Knifes:
| Q: | I would like to have one of the already sold knifes, is it possible to manufacture an identical one? |
| A: | Simply put, no. Damascus steel is not an industrial product you arbitrarily can produce identical copies of. Even homonymous patterns deviate slightly from rod to rod, possibly giving a maximum grade of resemblance but in no respect an identical copy. Regarding the shape, it is possible to produce a largely identical one. |
| Q: | Do you manufactuture knifes according to customer wishes? |
| A: | Yes we do. Tell us you wishes or send us a sketch, if it is workable we realize it. |
| Q: | Which hardness do the blades have? |
| A: | The hardness is usually between 58 HRC and 61 HRC. If you have specific needs, let us know. |
Jewelry:
| Q: | I would like to have one of the already sold pieces, is it possible to manufacture an identical one? |
| A: | Simply put, no. Damascus steel is not an industrial product you arbitrarily can produce identical copies of. Even homonymous patterns deviate slightly from rod to rod, possibly giving a maximum grade of resemblance but in no respect an identical copy. By the way, we achive the highest grade of resemblance with our solid rings (without gap). |
| Q: | One of the open rings does have a beautifull pattern, but I would prefer to have it without the gap, is that an option? |
| A: | Simpy put, no. The patterns of our open rings are not applicable to round bars, they are raised above the surface of flat bars and get re-forged afterwards. |
| Q: | Do you manufacture jewelry according to customer wishes? |
| A: | Surely. Let us know, if it's workable we realize it. |
| Q: | Is the jewelry made of stainless damascus steel? |
| A: | Usually yes, if not it is clearly stressed. |
| Q: | Could the rings and bangles also be grinded into other shapes? |
| A: | Essentially, we can grind the pieces in any shape you like to have. But please take into account, that, as a rule, the appearance of the patterns depend on the angle they are grinded. If you grind the wrong angle, the pattern is likely to disappear. |
| Q: | Could the jewelry be engraved? |
| A: | Yes, but minimum breadth has to be about 4mm(0.157 inch). Generally it could happen, that the engraving gets lost in the pattern, being hardly visible. Furthermore, please kindly notice that the engraving is done by third-party at additional costs we charge on top. |
| Q: | Can I wear the jewelry while swimming or housecleaning? |
| A: | As with all fine jewelry, damascus rings should not be worn into a hot tub or swimming pool, and care should be taken when using any household cleaners containing bleach. Chlorine and bleach actually cause the metal in your jewelry to leach out, weakening it. This can happen in a very short amount of time, perhaps leading to costly rework. It is also a good idea to remove rings prior to swimming because cold water can cause fingers to shrink, which can lead to lost jewelry. |
| Q: | Are rings and bangles available with noble metal linings? |
| A: | Yes, but depending on the material of the lining, there are considerable additional cost. Please ask. |
| Q: | I'm an allergic person, is it advisable to wear damascus jewelry? |
| A: | The nickel content of our damascus steel is bound to alloy and therefore in fact considered harmlessly. Anyway, in case you suffer from strong allergies we advise to attach noble metal linings to rings and bangles. |
| Q: | Does the patterns weaken in the course of the time? |
| A: | Usually not. As long as the jewelry is not exposed to aggressive detergents (e.g. while housecleaning) no weakening should occur. |
| Q: | How does one care for Damascus jewelry? |
| A: | The precious metal components of the rings can be cleaned with any commercially available jewelry cleaner or cloth. Stainless steel damascus is naturally resistant to corrosion and with normal wear it will not need any special treatment other than the precautions described above. If discoloration does occur, the damascus may be cleaned with whitening toothpaste. |
| Q: | Using chrome polish for caring metal parts of my car gives good results, can I use it for caring the jewelry as well? |
| A: | Don't do that. Chrome polish is very aggressive and therefore capable of significantly weakening the pattern. The result would be totally shining piece of jewelry. |
General:
| Q: | I would like to order, how to proceed? |
| A: | Please order by email, providing your name and address, as well as the delivery address if different Upon ordering, we send you an order confirmation, containg all necessary data. After full receipt of payment we ship the goods either as registered letter (total value of goods not exceeding € 60,-) or as insured parcel. Do we have to produce your goods, production will not start prior to full receipt of payment. This is regretfully necessary, since some clients loose interest meanwhile due to delivery times of two to six weeks. By the way, we deliver at no charge within europe, starting at value of goods of € 100,-(jewelry) or of € 300,-(knifes). Furthermore, please kindly notice that the prices shown on the website do not include the bank fees for money transfers abroad. |
| Q: | Do you have a returning policy? |
| A: | Yes, special designs and unusual sizes excluded. If you indeed dislike a knife or piece of jewelry, you receive full refund of payment upon returning of goods in undamaged condition. It is important that the reshipment is sufficiently insured. In case a reshipment gets lost on transport, refund will only be paid up to the sum insured. If goods are underinsured(or not at all) it's your loss. For special designs or unusual sizes, most likely no alternative buyer could be found for, returning is denied. For example, a ring with breadth of 15mm(0.591 inch) or more would fall into that category. Anyway, prior to acceptance of such an order, we would clearly indicate that condition. |
| Q: | What are the shipping costs? |
| A: | The shipment costs depend on the country of destination, as well as weight and size of the parcel, and will charged on top of the value of goods.
